happy news

They don’t know how, when, or where a wedding will happen because of closed borders and everything else. But this beaming couple is GETTING MARRIED! We couldn’t be happier for them. But it’s also a bittersweet time for both Dan and me.

To answer your question: No, we haven’t met Alex yet. We have FaceTimed and emailed and Dan talks to him on the phone. But still! We’ve done lots of background checking, though, and we feel really good about the young man. But still. We already love him, though, and know that Victoria will be perfectly safe and happy with him. She’s always been such a wise girl for her years and we trust her judgment.

And though they look like kids, they’re 21 and 26.

Now to dream of weddings…..

  1. How very interesting!!! Alex was at our house last summer! We liked him. The children liked him. He is a friend of my husband’s brother. When I showed my family this picture of Alex and Victoria, they said, oh yes, they saw them at Justin’s wedding last summer!!! Best wishes! By the way we have a daughter Victoria also😊

  2. Congratulations to all! Oh Luci.., married children extends your cup of joy to overflowing,

I used to wish time could just stop (for awhile) when our children were 18-16-14-12-10-8. But…. We wouldn’t have our other 5 children! Nor our 28, almost 30 grands. They all bring so much life, laughter and love. I simply can not imagine life without them. Married children is the exciting next phase of life.

Right now I’m eagerly waiting on phase three. That of becoming a great-grandmother. Each decade of life brings what the last could not give. Life is never boring.

Yes, there have been plenty of disappointments but it had never been boring. 😊.

Have loads of fun planning a daughter’s wedding!😁

  3. Ooo yay! I knew when they started dating it was a sweet match! I can definitely vouch for Alex being a good man! He’s ever such a gentleman and full of life and depth. I’m so happy for them and for you but yes I still keening remember letting my first one go… it’s a bit of a process or it was for me and it wasn’t even my daughter. But weddings are so fun! I hope they dont have too much stress figuring everything out.

  4. Oh, Luci! Here’s a hug. I’m very happy for you, but I can so relate to the bittersweetness you’re experiencing, as well. Have a wonderful time planning a wedding, gaining a son-in-law, and learning to know your daughter in deeper ways. You’ll be amazing at all of this. πŸ’œ

  5. This is such happy news! They are both such amazing people!! It was so fun to witness the first days of their courtship, definitely a match made in Heaven!!!πŸ₯°
    And.
Welcome to the world of A Married Daughter Across The Border. It is not for the faint of heart. πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

    1. Thank you, Hope! I feel kind of envious that you got to witness the first days of their courtship, though. But it was a good place for them to be since they couldn’t be at home. πŸ’—And yes. I’ll miss Tori a lot.
